What Ready Reading Does
READY READING is a multisensory synthetic phonics approach to beginning reading that utilizes visual, auditory, kinesthetic/tactile, and language-experience story instruction to teach explicit phonics and word blending. The lessons incorporate activities relevant to the multiple intelligences.
READY READING basic differentiated instruction is outlined in a manual for teachers and includes ideas for directed and independent activities for students. Within the manual, there is a reproducible game activity page to accompany each of the 66 lessons. Adjunct materials include reproducible storybooks and supplementary word review, comprehension, and activity sheets for reinforcement as needed.
READY READING provides consistency in word attack skills which makes children more proficient and independent in word identification and includes components recommended by research for Reading First.
